Ironwood’s founder, Jim Abbott, passed away on October 15, 2019. Jim and his wife, Alice, founded Ironwood in 1983 as a small property management firm and today the company has grown and expanded their service offerings to include commercial asset management and brokerage.
Although Jim retired around 10 years ago, he remained involved as a mentor and adviser throughout his life. Ironwood is now managed by Jim’s son, Tyler Abbott. Jim’s daughter, Allison Hoberg, and daughter-in-law, Michelle Abbott, are members of the company’s leadership team. Ironwood’s continued success is due in large part to Jim’s efforts over the last 35 years and he will be greatly missed.

A service celebrating Jim’s life will be held tomorrow, October 30, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Sand Point Country Club.
To honor his memory, donations may be made to UW Medicine’s Memory and Brain Wellness Center at Harborview.
